Some good news for a change. The 23 rescued puppies continue to do well at the HRSPCA shelter. How long these pups will remain in the care of the shelter is unknown. The 83 dogs which remain on the property are receiving daily food and fresh water that is brought in by water truck, this being done by Town authorities.
Unfortunately the fate of the 83 dogs remaining on the property is as yet unknown. Some were reported as being unapproachable, and all are in various declined states of health and condition. Likely a further assessment will be done and it is possible some may have to be humanely euthanized. The Alberta vet who visits Hay River once a month is returning next week, unfortunately as to whether the assessment will be done at that time is unknown. Whether any will be relocated to southern facilities remains a mystery.
Further updates will continue.
